Kienbock’s disease
( pressure / compression / crushing type of Osteochondritis of Lunate )
It is usually associated with Negative Ulnar Variance – leads to stretching of Ulnolunate ligament towards Lunate – increased density of Lunate on XRay – fragmentation – collapse – sclerosis
Investigation of choice – MRI
Treatment – Ulnar lengthening / Radial Shortening Procedures with vascularised muscle pedicle grafting of Pronator Quadratus
